This here's me pooch, Ms. Daisy in the bluebonnets. Awwwwww. All the ladies go guuuuuush.
Bean and I left last Friday to head to Austin to enjoy a relaxing weekend. It wasn't really that relaxing.
Before we even took off, the DFW metroplex was hit by hail, tornadoes, lightning, rain, and dogs and cats living together. I got done with work and was heading over to Bean's house, where we were planning on leaving to head to Austin. Well, when I was about 5 minutes from her house, it starts hailing...and raining...and throwin' down mad crazy wind gusts. I did what everybody else was trying to do...get under some cover.
I spotted an opening at a local gas station and I made a b-line for it. So did another dude. I didn't see him until he hit my truck. Thank God it was only minor damage, but I'm still gonna have to replace my front bumper. His damage is pretty minor too, so we are gonna try to handle each other's vehicle on our own. I'm not about to try to make a claim on this thing. It's only cosmetic damage, so it's not that important to get it fixed right away.*
We got it all sorted out and Bean and I finally made it to the greater Austin area that night. The next morning we drove out to Burnet, TX for their Bluebonnet festival. It was pretty interesting. They have a town square, and all along it were booths set up with assorted crafts for sale. There was also a live band playing country music. It was quaint and picturesque.
We then went out and found a field of bluebonnets and shot pictures for just under 2 hours. We covered just about every possible pose, with exception to the reverse-cowgirl, to shoot in front of the pretty flowers. Bean had fun though. It only took us that long because just as we finished shooting all that we wanted, the sun came out and significantly changed the lighting. So we had to shoot things all over again. Kinda funny...Not really.
Keep on keepin' on.
* For those of you keeping score at home, I've now wrecked my truck 4 times. In my defense, all of the accidents were fairly minor and cosmetic in nature. It's crazy. I've been driving for about 16 years, and I had never got into a wreck until I got this truck. And this truck is the only brand-new vehicle that I've ever had too. Coincidence?
