Something You Don't See Every Day

Here is a hand I played yesterday at Poker Stars. Up to this point, I was getting hammered by some bad beats. I was actually considering cutting my losses, as I was micro-tilting. Then this happened:

Hold'em Limit ($2/$4)
Seat #5 is the button
Seat 1: Player 1 ($62 in chips)
Seat 2: Player 2($122 in chips)
Seat 3: Player 3 ($57 in chips)
Seat 4: Player 4 ($83 in chips)
Seat 5: HERO ($62 in chips)
Seat 6: Player 6 ($182 in chips)
Seat 7: Player 7 ($146 in chips)
Seat 8: Player 8 ($99 in chips)
Seat 9: VILLAIN ($90 in chips)
Seat 10: Player 9 ($201 in chips)
Player 6: posts small blind $1 Player 7l: posts big blind $2
HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to HERO [Kc Kh]

Player 8: folds
VILLAIN: raises $2 to $4
Player 10: folds
Player 1: folds
Player 2: folds
Player 3: folds
Player 4 (the sucker) : calls $4
HERO: raises $2 to $6
Player 6: folds
Player 7: folds
VILLAIN: raises $2 to $8 Betting is capped.
Player 4 (the sucker): calls $4
HERO: calls $2

At this point, I figured the dude had AA. I was a bit worried at this point, but the VILLAIN was a loose-aggressive player, who made some strange moves though. Then the flop hits:

*** FLOP *** [Qh 5c 7h]
VILLAIN: bets $2
Player 4 (the sucker): folds (I wonder if he knew he was beat?)
HERO: raises $2 to $4
VILLAIN: calls $2

Now I'm not exactly sure what he has. AK maybe? AA, QQ, JJ? With him just calling me I felt pretty confident at this point.

*** TURN *** [Qh 5c 7h] [Kd]
VILLAIN: checks
HERO: bets $4
VILLAIN: raises $4 to $8
HERO: raises $4 to $12
VILLAIN: raises $4 to $16 Betting is capped
HERO: calls $4

Now I really know that he has QQ. There is almost no way that he would play AA like this so far. I'm now laughing, and making sure that I still have the nuts.

*** RIVER *** [Qh 5c 7h Kd] [5s]
VILLAIN: bets $4
HERO: raises $4 to $8
VILLAIN: raises $4 to $12
HERO: raises $4 to $16 Betting is capped
VILLAIN: calls $4

I check again to see if I still have the nuts, and since the VILLAIN having pocket 5's seemed really unlikely, I kept ramming. I only wished that I was at a Crypto site, where there is no limit to the number of raises when you are heads up.

*** SHOW DOWN ***
HERO: shows [Kc Kh] (a full house, Kings full of Fives)
VILLAIN: mucks hand
HERO collected $96 from pot (HOLY CRAP THAT'S A HUUUUUUUGE POT FOR $2/$4 and being heads up!!!!)

*** SUMMARY ***Total pot $99 Rake $3 Board [Qh 5c 7h Kd 5s]
HERO(button) showed [Kc Kh] and won ($96) with a full house, Kings full of Fives
VILLAIN mucked [Qc Qs]

I just don't understand this dudes play here. I understand slow playing it on the flop, but he had to know that I had KK on the turn. Didn't he? If not he really should have know by the river. I figure he lost about 3-4 extra big bets there, simply not believing the obvious.

What hands could he have put me on? Let's go through them one by one.

AA: That had to be what he was thinking, right?
KK: I'm betting that he either knew that's what I had, but refused to believe it, or he is an absolute moron.
JJ: I can't think that he would put me on this, but hey, maybe.
AK: He might have thought that, again that would be his dream.
77: Maybe he was really, hoping that I went balls-to-the-wall with 77 pre-flop, and hit my set.

These are the only hands that I can imagine him putting me on, but shouldn't it seem pretty clear that it was reasonable to assume that I had KK? I would think that it would have at least slowed him down on the river.

Keep on keepin' on.
