Yesterday, I flew to Oregon. The day started out with a pretty nasty scare. It started with checking my bag in at the curb. I hand the dude my driver's license and everything is cool. I then procede up to the security check point and they ask me for my license. Cool. Only I look in my wallet, and it's not there. I check all my pockets. Nothing. I'm starting to sweat now, so I head back to the curbside pickup area and ask the dude if he has my license. No. I spend the next 10 minutes or so, ripping apart my backpack, and checking my pockets for another 15 times or so. I then think decide to check my wallet again, for the 3rd or 4th time. This time, the way I held it must have changed, because I managed to see my license.
Where was it?
Underneath a picture of my mom. Cute huh? Thanks a lot Mom.
I then get on the plane with no other hassles, and land in Oregon. I have a 2.5 hour layover there so I fire up the laptop to play some online poker. I fire up UKbetting to start on the May monthly bonus, and make a deposit. A message comes up, "Insufficient funds in your Neteller accoutn." Rugh, row Shaggy. My heart sank, because I knew something was wrong, as I had almost $1000 in my account.
I then log into my account to see that there were 2 withdrawls from my account for about $1700 from an online casino and an online sports betting site. Not cool. Not cool.
I spend the next hour or so on the phone with Neteller and my bank to get this corrected. Neteller said that there were quite a few others that had been robbed like this. Beautiful.
I managed to put a hold on my checking accout, which is a major pain in the buttocks, because now even I don't have access to it. I spent about a half hour on the phone trying to pay bills that need to be paid in the next week, and get an added bonus of having a $10 fee added for the "priveledge" of paying over the phone. Well screw you very much. What a mess.
Now, I have to wait until next week before I can have Neteller put the money back into my account, which pretty much kills any dreams of online poker playing for the next week or so. If I ever found the mother trucker that did this.......well, let's just say a pair of pliers and a blowtorch would be involved (can you name the movie reference?)*
Cameltoes and I packed the heck outta the U-Haul truck today. I'm pretty tired, as we got a lot done, but we still have a bunch more to do tomorrow. And we get to clean. Jealous????
We are going to leave Oregon on Sunday morning, rather than Sunday afternoon, which is good. We are hoping to make it back to Texas by Tuesday afternoon/evening. We have about 2200 miles or so to travel, but I did manage to get the empty truck to 75 mph. That means we should be able to average at least 65 mph loaded; maybe even 70. *fingers crossed*
I gotta jump in the shower to get ready for the night's activities. Hope all of you in Texas are holding down the fort for me. I'm ready to get back to the greatest state in the union.
Keep on keepin' on.
* For those of you that don't know, it's from "Pulp Fiction."
