Two nights ago, I had to go to the eye doctor to get my contacts checked out. No big deal, right? Well it just so happends that the doctor and her receptionist are sisters (each in their 40's). So after my appointment we all start talking and they invite me to sing karaoke at this local dive bar. Now, just to crush any of you sick puppies out their of any wild ideas, they were both married, in their 40's, and not attractive (at least to me they weren't).
So next thing I know, I'm at a bar with about 10 people (including the bartender) there, and only the 3 of us singing. Now maybe you got out singing with you eye doctor all the time, but this was a first for me. It was fun, but it was also a little odd. I ended up singing the Black Crowes to Johnny Cash. Interesting mix. I even ended up singing "Crazy", which is normally sung by Patsy Cline, but Willie Nelson wrote it, and I sang it his way, which gave me a standing ovation. O.K. maybe not that much, but the crowd loved it.
I gotta get to work. I'm heading home this weekend to see a "real doctor" friend of mine. Keep on keepin' on.
