So the Longhorns beat the mighty Trojans. Good for them. Now I know that a few of you reading this aren't too happy about that, and I understand your point. However I will make my list of reasons that t.u. winning the National Championship is a good thing.
1. It's good for the state of Texas. I'd much rather have a team from Texas do well than any other team, especially one from California (damn hippies). Texas is the greatest state anyway, this just helps the rest of the country realize that, even though they don't want to.
2. It's good for the Big 12. Since the Big 12 is the read-headed stepchild of the major conferences (in the media, that is), this will help a little towards tilting it in the Big 12's favor.
3. Screw USC. Poor Matt (a.k.a. Mr. Heisman) had to say after the game that they still were #1, but t.u. just played better at the end. Exactly.
That's my top 3 reasons. I know that I'm not convincing anybody one way or the other, but that's just how I see it.
