Hard On A Brotha

The freakin' Spankees won last night. Detroit let them get too far ahead, which you obviously can't do. The Twins lost yesterday and did again today. Kinda tough to come back when you are down 0-2 in a 5 game series. Looks like I may not have to watch the rest of the playoffs.

Today has been an interesting one. I went to lunch with the owner of the clinic that I work pretty regularly. We had a good conversation, and he even paid for my lunch. Not too shabby. He, again, offered me a job, if I want it. Interesting proposition.*

I've been a busy cracka this afternoon though. I've had to work my mojo on a few cases too.

The other day, Annie and I were in Target, and I saw a T-shirt that I think that I told her that I should wear at my new clinic. It said, "I Like Hot Moms." It's a joke that I say to Annie about our upcoming clinic. You see, it's gonna be built in a pretty well to do neighborhood, and there will be plenty of soccermoms that will come into the clinic. I figure if I wear the T-shirt, it can only increase our business, right?

I hope that all of you appreciated the link to the Soul Texturizer product yesterday. I know I did. You're welcome.

It's interesting to think about how one decision can change you entire life's path. For instance, if I had not decided to move to Ft. Worth, I never would have met Annie. Or, if I decided to not work at the new clinic, and take this job, or any other job offer. It's funny how life works out.

It's kind of like the old "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. You'd get to a point in the story where you'd have to make a decision, and if you chose option A, you'd go to page 120, and if you chose option B, you go to page 69 (It's no coincidence that I chose 69 as the page number in this example. Yes, I'm a 14 year old boy.). I'm not really sure why I've been thinking about this today, but I thought I'd get you all loyal readers (all 3-4 of you, depending on the day) to start thinking about it.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that all of this school shooting crap is pretty scary. Dem chillins be some crazy mofo's.

Poker Speak:

I finished my Poker Room bonus. I'm now finished with online poker. The net result? -$82
That's including the $180 bonus. As you can see, I'm not exactly a stellar poker player. Although, $170 of the loss came from a single 1.5 hour session at $3/$6, playing 2 tables, so it's not that bad, I guess.

I did go through some of my poker stats, and I came up with this sobering fact: I'm a break-even poker player. Or, roughly one. If I exclude the very small sample size of my $3/$6 play, then I'm up about a few hundred bucks since January of 2005. Not exactly encouraging. So maybe it's a blessing in disguise that my Neteller account got hacked into. I started realizing that without the numerous bonuses, I'm a break-even player. It's kind of sobering to realize that. I thought that I was a lot better than that.

But there are a few things that probably contributed negatively to my bottom line:
1) I started multi-tabling. By multi-tabling, one cannot keep up with the subtleties of the game. And that increases with each additional table.

2) I started playing more "in a hurry" to clear that given bonus. By that I mean that I would play when I didn't really want to, just to clear the bonus. I would also add another table or 2 in just to increase the clearance rate, even if it was too tired/angry/drunk etc.

3) I almost gave up on taking notes on players, which is pretty much related to reason #1. It's too hard to keep track of who the crazy players are, and who the fish are, etc., when you are playing multiple tables.

So there you have it, my farewell speech to myself about online poker. And you may have noticed that I took down the poker links that were on the right. That's because I really don't want to risk getting thrown in jail for it. With the new bill that passed in the Senate, The Man can, in theory, throw a brotha in jail, just for linking a poker site on their website. And I wasn't exactly making any money on them anyway. Actually, I wasn't making any money from them.

So, Totalbet is going to send me my $ via snail mail, because the Cryptos ain't liking the U.S. players anymore. And I withdrew my final dollars from Poker Room and Will Hill. *Sniff, sniff*

Good bye online poker......It was fun. Thanks for the memories.

Oh well. There's always casino poker. Whooooooooo Hooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Keep on keepin' on.

* And not in the sick way that you were thinking of, Big R. Shame on you for thinking about "that" type of proposition.
